Porch Restoration

PORCH RESTORATION.  The following plan shows what the likely dimensions would be of the restored porch.  The perspective drawings show the plan with square columns or round columns.  These have been produced to help our group with some budgetary pricing for the restoration of the porch.  These are not the plan that will be submitted for Federal and State tax credits.  They are for budgetary pricing only and are subject to change.

General Description.  Pressure treated deck structure supported on brick piers (~12x12 in).  Eight inch square wooden columns ( 4x4 Pressure Treated center post clad with rot-resistant 1x ).  Wood rot-resistant decking.  Plywood ceiling painted a light sky blue.  Trim 1x , asphalt shingles matching existing, gutters matching existing.  Steps, pressure treated stringers with steps in same material as porch deck.  The specifics of the materials are TBD and will be per historic preservation guidelines for NC tax credits.  Decking stained/painted.  Vertical and horizontal surfaces will be painted white or some historic color that is in the color scheme that will be used on the house (TBD).
